I was at the clinic yesterday (Friday) for a check-up. I had an ultrasound while I was there. The nurse gave me a pad and pen and had me jot down the size and number of follicles. After 4 days of taking Gonal-F, on the right I had 4: 5,6,7,8mm and on the left: 7,7,8,8mm. I suppose I am not responding well enough because I was prescribed a new drug called Repronex. The needles are hugeeeee. I’m so glad I have someone to give me my injections. I would never be able to stick them by myself. My dosage of Gonal-F has also been increased from 225 to 300 units.
I return to the clinic on Monday for more check-ups. Actually I should be returning every day next week for these daily check ups since my retrieval date is only a week away. I intend to stay in a hotel for the day prior to surgery and the day of surgery so that I can get some undisturbed rest those two days. I am really looking forward to that since I will have a friend keep me company :)
